How to Play
Checkers is played on the dark squares of an 8×8 board. Each player starts with 12 pieces. Pieces move diagonally forward one square at a time. To capture an enemy piece, jump over it to the empty square beyond — you can chain multiple jumps in a single turn. If you can make a capture, you must (captures are mandatory). When a piece reaches the far row, it becomes a King and gains the ability to move and capture backwards. The game ends when one player captures all opposing pieces or blocks them so they have no legal moves.
Strategy Tips
- 1Control the center of the board. Pieces in the center have more movement options and are harder to trap.
- 2Keep your back row intact as long as possible. This prevents your opponent from kinging their pieces.
- 3Plan multi-jump sequences. Setting up forced double and triple jumps can swing the game dramatically in your favor.
