    About This Game

Practice International Draughts against our AI on a 10×10 board. The AI handles all the complex rules — flying kings, mandatory captures, and the maximum capture rule — so you can focus on improving your strategy. Choose from Easy, Medium, or Hard difficulty. The computer provides instant, consistent play at your chosen level, available anytime for practice sessions of any length.

    How to Play

Select "vs Computer" on the Draughts page and choose your difficulty. You control one set of pieces and the AI controls the other. Click a piece to select it, then click a highlighted square to move. When captures are available, they are mandatory and highlighted. The maximum capture rule is enforced automatically — the game will only allow the sequence that captures the most pieces. The AI responds instantly after your move. Use the undo button to take back moves and explore different strategies.

    Strategy Tips

    • 1Start with Easy to learn the 10×10 rules, especially the maximum capture rule which may be new if you come from American Checkers.
    • 2Focus on understanding flying kings — they are the most powerful pieces and fundamentally different from American Checkers kings.
    • 3At Medium difficulty, start working on controlling long diagonals with your pieces and kings.
    • 4At Hard difficulty, look for multi-jump combinations before every move. The AI will find them, so you need to see them first.
    • 5Use the undo feature extensively to learn from the AI's tactical responses.

    In-Depth Guide

Playing International Draughts against a computer opponent is the most effective way to learn and improve at this complex game. The AI enforces all rules automatically, which is particularly helpful for the maximum capture rule — calculating which sequence captures the most pieces can be challenging for human players, but the game handles it flawlessly. Our three difficulty levels provide a clear progression path. Easy AI introduces the game's unique mechanics at a comfortable pace, making intentional mistakes that create learning opportunities. Medium AI plays solid positional draughts that will challenge intermediate players.
